RULES AND REGULATIONS
1 Each team must have four players on its roster and register by deadline.  Additions and/or changes will not be after the entry deadline, I.D. will be issued to players and must be worn at all contests. 11 Once play resumes after a disagreement or appeal, the decision is considered to be final, a dead issue.  When the ball becomes alive, no further appeals will be allowed on that incident
       
2 5th grade and under divisions--Games will be played to 15 points, win by 2 points or 1st team to 18 points.  Court monitors have the right to shorten games if play is running behind; 25 minute time limit.
6th grade thru and including, College divisions & Open-Divisions--Games will be played to 20 points, win by 2 points or 1st team to 25 points.
12 The ball will change possession after scored baskets. And, the ball must be checked at the designated throw-in spot out front
 
3 Baskets made are 1 point each, unless made behind the 19'9" 2-point line, in which case shots are worth 2 points. 13 The ball will be taken back on each change of possession.  Failure to do so will result in loss of possession. taking back means that the ball handler's entire body must be behind the 2 point line
 
4 All games must start with 3 players on each team, but a game may be completed with only 1 or 2 players on a team. 14 Jump balls will go to the defense
 
5 Teams must be at their court location at the scheduled time, even if games are running behind.  A 5 minute forfeit time will be strictly enforced 15 No dunking in warm-ups or games
     
6 Player substitution is permitted during any dead-ball situation.  In case of obvious injury, the injured player may not return to play in that game if replaced without a charged time out. 16 After all violations and fouls, theball will be checked from the designated throw-in spot out front.
       
7 Before games start, both teams will be allowed to warm up for 5 minutes at the same time.  Court monitors can choose to eliminate or reduce warm up 17 A coin flip will determine which team receives the ball first
8 Only those teams scheduled to play will be allowed to occupy the court at set time 18 Teams using illegal players or false information will be disqualified.  This rule will be enforced from the point of discovery.  No replays
 
9 FOULS
a If a player is fouled while shooting and makes the basket, it will count and the ball will change possession.  If the basket is missed, the player has the option to shoot one free throw or 2 pointer; possession will change whether the attempt is made or missed. 19 Rain Policy--In the event of inclement weather, we reserve the right to do one or a combination of the following: a) delay games until the clouds break and/or move games to other courts; b) reduce the number of points required to win and cancel games in the consolation bracket; c) change format from double to single elimination; d) move the tournament indoors if possible; e) cancel the event in which case FULL OR PARTIAL REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN.  Every reasonable effort will be made to keep the tournament running.
b If a player is fouled in the act of shooting and the basket is missed, he/she will have 2 choices: (1) shoot one shot from the free throw line; if the free throw is missed he/she will keep possession OR (2) shoot one 2-point shot; possession will change whether the attempt is made or missed 20 Eligibility of players is the player's responsibility.
       
c The court monitor will keep record of all team fouls.  On the 5th team foul and all subsequent team fouls, the player fouled will attempt one free throw.  If the free throw is missed, he/she will keep possession; if the free throw is made, possession changes. 21 Final say on rules regulations and bracketing is granted to the Tournament Committee.  Head Tournament Official has final say on any and all protests
       
d If the court monitor rules a foul was flagrant or meant to cause harm, the player fouled will shoot one free throw and keep possession of the ball.  The player called for the foul will be warned once, and if that player is called for any flagrant foul thereafter, he/she will be ejected from that game. 22 All teams ware guaranteed at least 3 games
       
e Anyone involved in fighting or continuous misconduct during a game will be disqualified for the tournament.  NO EXCEPTIONS! 23 Absolutely no alcohol will be permitted at the tournament site for players or fans
10 The court monitor has the right to change or vary any rule.  The court monitor's decision is final for the purposes of the game.  Only the team captain can protest, in which case the team captain must protest in writing on the score sheet before play resumes.  After the game, both team captains are required to report to the scheduling coordinator, and the scheduling coordinator's decsion will be final.  Only questions concerning rules and regulations of eligibilitycan be appealed.  The court monitor has the right to remove any spectators. 24 Basket heights for 3rd and 4th grades will be 9 feet.
